Hi Reader,

Happy July 4th weekend! We're spending it with family at the Oregon Coast - I hope you've been able to enjoy some of the festivities and the long weekend.

Because we're out of town, I'm sending a shorter newsletter today with summery dinner ideas from the month's menu as well as what's new on the blog (the Good Things List includes EIGHT books this month - you can tell I spent a lot of June in the garden listening to audiobooks!).

4 Weeks of Dinner Menus for July

In the monthly dinner ideas menus you'll always find a main dish as well as ideas for simple sides that help you get those veggies in. Some weeks also include cook-once-eat-twice type recipes (actually just a fancy way of saying using up leftovers, ha!) and I feature a dessert of the month that leans into whatever season it is.

July's menu includes simple meals like:

And many more - I hope you check it out here and fill in your menu to make the month go that much more smoothly!

The Good Things List No.86

Here you'll find more on our Silver Falls State Park hike, why I like ThredUp for more than just saving money, the 8 book reviews - plus a really good show we watched.

10 Minute Chickpea Wraps

Here's the recipe some asked for after I mentioned the idea in a series of pantry cooking emails - super simple, no-cook, using pantry ingredients and infinitely customizable!

I hope this was helpful - let me know what else you would like to have included in these emails, I'm always open to suggestions.😀

Enjoy the weekend and have a lovely week!

We had three days of 100 degrees last week and my potted plants suffered for sure. Also yellowing bean and blueberry leaves and dead black-eyed susan plants. But surprisingly most things were okay with regular watering - thanks to my brother, since we were at the coast (great timing or...

Our weather has been really wonderful here - I keep waiting for the hot weather bomb to drop, lol. The weather people are saying a few days in the 90s next week, but that doesn't sound nearly as bad as the rest of the country these past weeks. There are two things I thought it would be good to talk about this week: No...

I need a bigger harvest basket when I'm cutting whole heads of...
