Hi Reader,

I hope your week has been going well! Around here we've been getting ready for a long-planned lake cabin family trip, which now includes daily checking of the air quality - will we actually be able to be outside by said lake? New normal for summertime, it seems.

The other thing that's been a priority has been harvesting and preserving what we don't eat (as well as watering!). A few weeks ago we picked the three peaches from our little tree - and they were delicious! Hoping for larger harvests in the future.😃

The kitchen island is again hosting enamel bowls full of ripening tomatoes, plums, and peppers. Not as many tomatoes as typical, but that's a tale for another time...

In light of this time of year when we can grow or find good deals on summer produce, I'm sharing some of the preserving I'm doing with what's coming in right now below.

You'll also find the new recipe I shared last week that once I made it, all I could think about was when I could make it again (honest!). Super fun that a reader sent me the original recipe idea, too.💜

WHAT'S NEW

Super Delicious Veggie-Loaded Tuna Salad

A fresh twist on the classic, packed with shredded carrots, garlic, onion, and cheese for extra flavor - this is the quick, protein rich meal of my dreams!

Thanks for being here with me, I appreciate you! Have a wonderful week.💜

P.S. This week in Notes From the Farmhouse I shared all the steps I took to give my 10+ year old outdoor furniture set an update, including using painters drop cloths to cover the cushions. I also lifted the curtain on what dinner meals actually look like at the farmhouse - you're probably not surprised to learn they are easy, use what I have, and are repeatable.😃 Click here to see a list of other topics I've been writing about!

I'm enjoying the streak of near-perfect summer weather (for me!) we've been having - cool nights with days in the low to mid-80s.💜 We enjoyed it especially this last weekend with a family trip to a lake cabin in central Oregon - not only the good weather, but the absence of thick smoke! I hope your August has...

Since it's my favorite season, I'm going to try and be completely present for the sun, tank tops + skirts, eating outside, and grilling all the things, while the getting is good.😊 And I can't even believe we haven't paddled on a lake even once yet this summer!! Testament to the fact...

I hope to have enough time to get a couple more things accomplished on my summer to-do list, which includes finishing the landscaping of the loooong...
