Hi Reader,

Fall is starting to come to the farmhouse! I harvested a few of my small white pumpkins and combined them with a few sprigs of purple flowering oregano for a simple centerpiece:

I have a few more plus two large cinderella type that grew this year to use on the porch and on bookshelves - I'm so glad they produced this year (last year I got none and the year before only 2 or 3).😀

The other thing feeling very fall-ish is all the fall fruit that is in season now. We were able to harvest some plums, pears, and apples from the huge trees at my aunt and uncle's house, which we're eating and drying. We got a handful from our small trees (we count anything a win, lol), and it's super easy to find all kinds of apples (do an apple tasting dessert with 3-4 varieties, it's super fun, plus you'll really see the difference in flavors!), as well as different pears, plums, and grapes.

Here are some recipes I've rounded up for you for preserving with fall fruits so you can enjoy them all season.

Recipes for Fall Fruits

This covers all fruit, but some basic recipes for fall fruits are included here from me as well as other bloggers.

TWO recipes for preserving apples are found here: a sweet-hot apple chutney and an 3 ingredient apple-lemon marmalade that would work great for glazes.

If you've still got plums, this super flavorful sauce is perfect for any Asian style recipe.

And of course my favorite way to preserve apples - apple butter made super easy in a slow cooker.

WHAT'S NEW

The 2027 Calendar Pages are here!

This year I chose a fleur-de-lis pattern in colorful, but muted colors for a change.

Updated Sourdough English Muffins

Very little hands-on time is needed for these wonderfully fluffy muffins, but you do need to start a sponge the night before. The flavor is worth it! (I added LOTS of tips from both me and readers.)

Have a wonderful week!! I'm so glad you're here.💜

Which means our stretch of mild, summer-like weather is over and my sundresses really have to be put away this time (our false end-of-summer in August and September had me thinking...

But October - that's the real transition month for us. The beginning of the month is typically still nice...

We were celebrating our anniversary AND we had last stayed there on our honeymoon!! It was a super fun place to visit, which was helped by the beautiful weather - sunny and high 60s the whole time we were there...
