Are you ready for fall or wanting to savor the last of summer? While I'm firmly in the summer category, I do think we can do both - enjoying where we are at the same time looking forward to where we are headed. 😃 We have gotten some unusual cool, rainy weather for late summer (it was 62 degrees on August 31st 😳) and I've had to break out my sweaters and socks earlier than I want, but I'm hoping for a summer weather comeback for the rest of September. The garden appreciated the rain, but it will appreciate more days of warmer sun, too - just like me.💜 Like I do at the beginning of each month, I'm sharing an updated month long September dinner menu below (plus this month's Good Things List!), but first you'll find a week's menu I made that shows how you can mix and match meals from the full month (or use as-is from the downloadable pdf option) - my goal is to help you plan simple, real food menus that work for you.🙌 I really like this month's menu because there are lots of recipes that help use all the great produce that's available and transition from summer cooking (no bakes and grilling) to lighter fall meals (including soups and bakes). My sample plan below has a couple options for grilled meals that would work for Labor Day as well. Sample September Week Dinner Meal Plan

Every year about the end of August, it starts to feel different with lower morning temperatures and the sun in different place. This year is no different - in fact, our 7-day forecast even shows days of rain with highs in the 60s. Oh, dear - I'm trying to keep up a good face because we need the...

I'm enjoying the streak of near-perfect summer weather (for me!) we've been having - cool nights with days in the low to mid-80s.💜 We enjoyed it especially this last weekend with a family trip to a lake cabin in central Oregon - not only the good weather, but the absence of thick smoke! I hope your August has...

Around here we've been getting ready for a long-planned lake cabin family trip, which now includes daily checking of the air quality - will we actually be able to be outside by said lake? New normal for summertime, it seems. The other thing that's been a priority has been harvesting and preserving what we...
