Hi Reader,

Well, here we are in August, the last "fully summer" month. Since it's my favorite season, I'm going to try and be completely present for the sun, tank tops + skirts, eating outside, and grilling all the things, while the getting is good.😊

And I can't even believe we haven't paddled on a lake even once yet this summer!! Testament to the fact that if it's not on the calendar, it may not happen. I'm resolving here and now to get it on the calendar - summer is not done yet!

An Oregon Cottage Shop Preserving Sale

And speaking of summer - it's time for the annual preserving season sale in my shop! From now through September 15 you can get 15% off everything, both digital and physical.

In today's newsletter I'm sharing the updated August dinner menus below (plus this month's Good Things List), but first, here's a week's menu I made that mixes and matches meals from the full month. You can mix up the monthly menu like this or use it as is if it works for you (using the downloadable pdf option) - my goal is to help you plan simple, real food menus that work for you.🙌

August Menu Plans for Garden Fresh Dinners

Here's your 4 weeks of meal plans for easy, seasonal dinners. Each menu includes main, side options and plenty of veggies. (And a yummy, transportable blackberry crumb bar!)

Here's to a great week - thanks for being here with me, I appreciate you!

P.S. This week in Notes From the Farmhouse I shared reviews of all the books I read in July (including 3 I didn't finish and 1 I really, really didn't like...), and what's been happening around the farmhouse, including how I saved the remaining 2025 home grown garlic. It's a fun place I'm enjoying being able to share more.💜

Know someone who'd appreciate this? Forward it along!

I'm enjoying the streak of near-perfect summer weather (for me!) we've been having - cool nights with days in the low to mid-80s.💜 We enjoyed it especially this last weekend with a family trip to a lake cabin in central Oregon - not only the good weather, but the absence of thick smoke! I hope your August has...

Around here we've been getting ready for a long-planned lake cabin family trip, which now includes daily checking of the air quality - will we actually be able to be outside by said lake? New normal for summertime, it seems. The other thing that's been a priority has been harvesting and preserving what we...

I hope to have enough time to get a couple more things accomplished on my summer to-do list, which includes finishing the landscaping of the loooong...
