Hi Reader,

Well, I had a lot of fun last week filling orders for the two softcover books during my shop's sale! Not only was it personally fulfilling to see these two books I've labored over received well, but Brian and I had fun watching the sales come in and then packaging up each order.💜

Of course even though the sale is over, I still think the canning cookbook would make a nice gift for someone you think would be interested - and I've lowered the regular flat rate shipping amount! 😀 (We've got stock of the canning book that will ship in time for Christmas, but not the freezing book.)

Okay, on to Thanksgiving! I've shared what I'll be making already so today I thought I'd share a couple of roundup resources I've made of ideas for sides, activities, and - my favorite - LEFTOVERS.

Black Friday Sales for Garden and Yarn Favorites

Just want to mention the sales that are happening for a couple of my favorite sites. First up is gardening:

Botanical Interests Black Friday Sale: Through December 1 get 25% Off Hardgoods (Beds, Planters, Supplies) and 20% Off Online Exclusive Seeds, plus free shipping on $39 or more!

💥PLUS get an EXTRA %5 off with when you use my code: AOCSEEDS

Ideas: Packets of your favorite seeds (mine include lettuce, carrots, beans, and sunflowers). While you're there, grab some for yourself to score the free shipping and get a head start on the gardening season!

Epic Gardening: Similar to Botanical Interests (it's sister site) get 25% off almost everything and free shipping with $50 or more. Metal garden beds are also on sale for Buy-One-Get-50%-Off.

Plus, use my code ANOREGONCOTTAGE5 for an extra 5% off - it stacks!

Ideas: Birdies Beds anyone? 😀 Also a kit with any of these epic seed starting cells that I love to go with the seeds you got from Botanical.

Next is for all the knitters and crocheters:

KnitPicks.com and Crochet.com: The biggest (and last!) sale of the year, 30% off everything on both sites using code 11BLACKFRIDAY25 !

Ideas: For the knitters and crocheters on your list (or you!), here are my favorite tools and yarns:

  • Interchangable needle sets (you can also get individual needle heads) which I LOVE so much - I never use straight needles anymore.
  • Wood crochet hooks - I find them much nicer to hold over long periods than metal and they flow through yarn WAY better than cheaper wood sets which I learned the hard way.
  • Stocking stuffers of must-have tools like measuring tape, stitch markers, and needle/hook view sizers, row counters, etc. - all for 30% off!!
  • And of course, yarn! My favorites include Wool of The Andes, Dishie, Swish, and Comfy. See all the yarn here.

From The Blog

Easy 4-Ingredient Curry Deviled Eggs

The warm flavor of curry powder blends beautifully with the creamy filling, making this a quick recipe you can rely on for all your get-togethers.

Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

A winner: simple to mix, bake, and slice, giving you all the flavor of classic pecan pie in an easy bar you can make ahead and serve to a crowd.

One More Thing

I think all the cookbook and Black Friday sales is enough for this week.😀 I'll be back next week to share some of my favorite things with you that are useful, affordable (no $98 t-shirts here, thank you very much), and things you, or someone you know, might actually use.

Until then just know that I am so GRATEFUL for you and your following along, making recipes, leaving reviews, and generally being a part of our simple homemade life community. You are the BEST.💞

Happy Thanksgiving, friend!!

Know someone who'd appreciate this? Forward it along!

But that didn't stop us from having our scheduled date night where we had some great BBQ at a local restaurant and then saw the movie, Good Fortune, which I wasn't sure about from the trailer but turned out to be pretty good. The rest of our week was pretty normal, which got me to...

And then as soon as I see it's November I start to panic - there are only weeks left!! It's funny because it's just perception - there is plenty of time, even for ordering...
