Hi Reader,

Oh, man, spring is in the air around here - I hope it is for you! I have to constantly balance my enjoyment of the budding trees and bulbs with the checklist that goes off in my head when I look outside of all the things I want to get done.πŸ˜‚

It was so beautiful last weekend that I had to get out and do things even with the cast, so I pulled weeds and planted seeds all one-handed. Trying to clip dead stalks took 4 times as long, though, so I gave up on that. Soon, though- I'm only 1-1/2 weeks away from cast removal.πŸ‘

Anyway, March is a good time for a couple of things: if you garden, then these are the priority-

  1. Catching weeds while they’re little.
  2. Starting seeds and planting outside.
  3. Finishing any garden clean-up.

(You can find more specifics in the March Garden Tasks Checklist.)

And if you have food preserved from last season, it's a good time to start plugging recipes into your menus that use them up to make room for the new preserving season that will be starting.

A Few More Things

  1. I really enjoying watching Julius Robert's cooking reels on Instagram. The British accent, his enthusiasm (he uses his hands for everything!), and mostly WHERE he chooses to cook - sometimes in his well-used kitchen, sometimes in a greenhouse with a single burner, and sometimes randomly outdoors over a propane burner! He's pretty fun.
  2. After enjoying Matthew Norman's Grace & Henry's Holiday Movie Marathon, I got this book of his on kindle and found it to be just as sweet and fun, but still tackling difficult real-life subjects.

I appreciate you! Hope you have a lovely week.πŸ’œ

I've been dipping my feet into using my new greenhouse to start seeds and pot them up. I'm going to move to hardening off plants I started indoors this week,...

Winter turning to spring...

Of course if you've broken a bone you know that the restrictions come from the new range of motion you have (or lack thereof...).πŸ˜‚ So I'm slowly getting my wrist used to moving again...
